The present work reports the preparation of polycrystalline multiferroic $GdFeO_3$ (GdFO) and characterization with x-ray diffraction (XRD), magnetization, temperature dependent Raman spectroscopy, temperature and magnetic field dependent $^{57}Fe$ M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectroscopy measurements. The sample is found to be phase pure from Rietveld refinement of XRD pattern. The M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectra measured in the presence of external magnetic field show the signatures of field induced spin reorientation transition, which are corroborated by magnetization measurements. The asymmetric peak at 212 - 218 cm-1 occurring in InAs micro-nano wires is investigated using spatially resolved Raman spectroscopy (SRRS) of uniform, bent and long tapered MNWs grown on a Si (001) substrate. It is attributed to superposition of E2h phonon (wurtzite : WZ) and TO phonon (zinc blende : ZB) of InAs. In this article, we present a comprehensive study of temperature and composition dependent Raman spectroscopy of GexAs35-xSe65 thin films to understand different structural units responsible for optical properties. Strikingly, our experimental results uncover the ratio of GeSe4/2 tetrahedral and AsSe3/2 pyramidal units in GexAs35-xSe65 thin films and their linear scaling relationship with temperature and x. Present study reveals that the free energy landscape of the La5/8-yPryCa3/8MnO3 (LPCMO) system could be modified by elastic strain interaction in the epitaxial thin films. The influence of La and Nd co-substitution on the structural and magnetic properties of BiFeO3 (BFO) thin films was examined. We report the synthesis efficiency of few-layer graphene (FLG) in an external magnetic field modulated DC carbon arc in different non-reactive buffer gases. The effects of buffer gases on the anode erosion rate and the cathode deposit (CD) formation rate have been investigated during the synthesis of FLG. We present our study of effect of substrate induced strain on the La5/8-yPryCa3/8MnO3 (y=0.45), thin films grown on LaAlO3, NdGaO3 and SrTiO3 susbtrates that show large scale phase separation. It is observed that unstrained films grown on NdGaO3 behave quite similar to bulk material but the strained film grown on SrTiO3 show melting of insulating phase to metallic phase at low temperatures.
