Construction of future electron-positron colliders (or dedicated electron linac) and muon colliders (or dedicated muon ring) tangential to Future Circular Collider (FCC) will give opportunity to utilize highest energy proton and nucleus beams for lepton-hadron and photon-hadron collisions. Luminosity values of FCC based ep, \mup, eA, \muA, \gammap and \gammaA colliders are estimated. Multi-TeV center of mass energy ep colliders based on the FCC and linear colliders (LC) are considered in detail. Read More

Resonant production of fourth chiral family up quark at the LHC via anomalous interactions have been analyzed. It is shown that search for resonances in W^{+}b final states could lead to discovery of the fourth chiral family and simultaneously determine scale of the new physics, presumabely related to the quark and lepton compositeness. Obtained results emphasize an importance of W-leading jet invariant mass analysis in search for W+jets final states at the LHC, both with and without b-tagging. Read More

Resonant production of color octet electron, e_{8}, at the FCC based ep colliders has been analyzed. It is shown that e-FCC will cover much a wider region of e_{8} masses compared to the LHC. Moreover, with highest electron beam energy, e_{8} search potential of the e-FCC exceeds that of FCC pp collider. Read More

Multi-TeV center of mass energy ep colliders based on the Future Circular Collider (FCC) and linear colliders (LC) are proposed and corresponding luminosity values are estimated. Parameters of upgraded versions of the FCC are determined to optimize luminosity of electron-proton collisions keeping beam-beam effects in mind. It is shown that L_{ep}\sim10^{32}\,cm^{-2}s^{-1} can be achieved with moderate upgrade of the FCC parameters. Read More

Resonant production of leptogluons at the FCC based ep and \mup colliders have been analyzed. It is shown that e-FCC and \mu-FCC will cover much wider region of e_{8} and \mu_{8} masses than the LHC. While leptogluons with appropriate masses (if exist) will be discovered earlier by the FCC pp collider, lepton-proton colliders will give opportunity to handle very important additional information. Production of heavy Majorana neutrino $N_{e}$ predicted by left-right symmetric extension of the Standard Model at future {\normalsize TeV} scale $ep$ colliders have been considered. In order to estimate potential of $ep$ colliders for $N_{e}$ search we consider back-groundless process $e^{-}p\rightarrow e^{+}X$ which is consequence of Majorana nature of $N_{e}$. It is shown that {\normalsize linac-LHC} and {\normalsize linac-FCC} based $ep$ colliders will cover much wider regions of $N_{e}$ and $W_{R}$ masses than corresponding linear electron-positron colliders. In this study, a low energy beam transport (LEBT) channel for the proton linac section of the Turkish Accelerator Center (TAC) has been designed by using TRAVEL code. Commonly used LEBT including two focusing solenoid magnets will transport and match the H- beam from a volume source to RFQ. In the beam dynamics simulations of such a LEBT line, 95% space-charge compensation (SCC) has been considered in this study. Read More

The present note relies on the recently published conceptual design report of the LHeC and extends the first contribution to the European strategy debate in emphasising the role of the LHeC to complement and complete the high luminosity LHC programme. The brief discussion therefore focuses on the importance of high precision PDF and $\alpha_s$ determinations for the physics beyond the Standard Model (GUTs, SUSY, Higgs). Emphasis is also given to the importance of high parton density phenomena in nuclei and their relevance to the heavy ion physics programme at the LHC. Read More

This document provides a brief overview of the recently published report on the design of the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC), which comprises its physics programme, accelerator physics, technology and main detector concepts. The LHeC exploits and develops challenging, though principally existing, accelerator and detector technologies. This summary is complemented by brief illustrations of some of the highlights of the physics programme, which relies on a vastly extended kinematic range, luminosity and unprecedented precision in deep inelastic scattering. In this study, a low energy beam transport (LEBT) channel for the proton linac section of the Turkic Accelerator Complex (TAC) has been designed by using TRACE 2D and TRAVEL codes. The LEBT channel is located between an ion source and a radio frequency quadrupole (RFQ) structure. The aims of the design studies are perfect matching between input and output beams with two solenoid magnets, small emittance growth and sufficient space for beam diagnostics. Read More

Following a brief review of our contributions to the 2006 European PP Strategy, recent comments on several topics are presented. First of all, it is emphasized that only the simplest version of the fourth chiral generation, namely, minimal SM4 (mSM4) with only one Higgs doublet is in some tension with the recent LHC data on the Higgs boson search. This tension, which follows from the relative strengths of the H --> 4l and Higgs --> {\gamma}{\gamma} channels, can be naturally resolved if there is a mechanism to enhance the H-->{\gamma}{\gamma} width (although any charged and heavy particle could enhance the H-{\gamma}-{\gamma} loop, 2HDM can be given as an example). The physics programme and the design are described of a new collider for particle and nuclear physics, the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC), in which a newly built electron beam of 60 GeV, up to possibly 140 GeV, energy collides with the intense hadron beams of the LHC. Compared to HERA, the kinematic range covered is extended by a factor of twenty in the negative four-momentum squared, $Q^2$, and in the inverse Bjorken $x$, while with the design luminosity of $10^{33}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$ the LHeC is projected to exceed the integrated HERA luminosity by two orders of magnitude. The physics programme is devoted to an exploration of the energy frontier, complementing the LHC and its discovery potential for physics beyond the Standard Model with high precision deep inelastic scattering measurements. This summary of the 3rd "Beyond the 3 Generation Standard Model" workshop presents the following four statements (and their implications) for the ongoing and future searches of a fourth generation: 1) The enhancement of the Higgs gluon-gluon production cross-section times branching fraction for many of the search channels studied at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is not a flat factor of 9; 2) Electroweak precision data allows for not only a fourth generation, even more generations are allowed; 3) Consideration of mixing significantly changes the conclusions about the interpretation of experimental constraints, and even a fully-degenerate fourth generation becomes allowed; 4) The features that make a fourth generation of fermions attractive are still valid even under the light of initial LHC results. In a recent Letter Martinez et al.2011 have argued that the existence of extra three families is still perfectly in accord with the standard model (SM), as long as an additional Higgs doublet is also present. Here we claim that the mentioned accordance can be obtained with less reliance on BSM physics like additional Higgs doublets, but benefiting from Majorana neutrinos is sufficient. Read More

We have constructed a preonic model starting from a coloured fermionic preon and by postulating a new symmetry, MUSY. The heavy fourth generation of quarks that have sufficiently small mixing with the three known SM families form hadrons. After a brief review of the electroweak radiative corrections to gauge-boson self-energies, otherwise known as the direct and oblique corrections, a tool for calculation of the oblique parameters is presented. This tool, named OPUCEM, brings together formulas from multiple physics models and provides an error-checking machinery to improve reliability of numerical results. It also sets a novel example for an "open-formula" concept, which is an attempt to improve the reliability and reproducibility of computations in scientific publications by encouraging the authors to open-source their numerical calculation programs. Discoveries at the LHC will soon set the physics agenda for future colliders. This report of a CERN Theory Institute includes the summaries of Working Groups that reviewed the physics goals and prospects of LHC running with 10 to 300/fb of integrated luminosity, of the proposed sLHC luminosity upgrade, of the ILC, of CLIC, of the LHeC and of a muon collider. The four Working Groups considered possible scenarios for the first 10/fb of data at the LHC in which (i) a state with properties that are compatible with a Higgs boson is discovered, (ii) no such state is discovered either because the Higgs properties are such that it is difficult to detect or because no Higgs boson exists, (iii) a missing-energy signal beyond the Standard Model is discovered as in some supersymmetric models, and (iv) some other exotic signature of new physics is discovered. The necessity of the fourth family follows from the SM basics. According to flavor democracy the Dirac masses of the fourth SM family fermions are almost equal with preferable value 450 GeV, which corresponds to common (for all fundamental fermions) Yukawa coupling equal to SU(2) gauge coupling gW. In principle, one expect u4 a little bit lighter than d4, while nu4 could be essentially lighter than l4 due to Majorana mass terms for right-handed components of neutrinos. Read More

This summary of the Workshop "Beyond the 3-generation SM in the LHC era" presents a brief discussion of the following four statements about the fourth generation: 1) It is not excluded by EW precision data; 2) It addresses some of the currently open questions; 3) It can accommodate emerging possible hints of new physics; 4) LHC has the potential to discover or fully exclude it. We propose a channel for the possible discovery of new charged leptons at the Large Hadron Collider. The proposed final state contains three same-sign leptons, making this new channel practically back- groundless. The method is illustrated for two different cases: the four-family Standard Model and the Grand Unified Theory based on the E6 gauge group. Read More

Single resonant productions of the fourth standard model generation charged lepton via anomalous interactions at gamma e colliders based on future linear e^+ e^- colliders with 500 GeV and 1 TeV center of mass energies are studied. Signatures of $\gamma e\to \ell_4\to e\gamma $ and $\gamma e\to \ell_4\to eZ$ anomalous processes followed by the hadronic and leptonic decay of the Z boson and corresponding standard model backgrounds are discussed in details. The lowest necessary luminosities to observe these processes and the achievable values of the anomalous coupling strengths are determined. Read More

A detailed study is presented of the expected performance of the ATLAS detector. The reconstruction of tracks, leptons, photons, missing energy and jets is investigated, together with the performance of b-tagging and the trigger. The physics potential for a variety of interesting physics processes, within the Standard Model and beyond, is examined. Read More

A high luminosity energy recovery linac on ring type electron-positron collider operating as super charm factory is proposed. It is shown that the luminosity L=2.3 10^35 cm^-2s^-1 can be achieved for center of mass energy 3. Read More

We comment on the recent results from the Tevatron experiments in the W+jets channel and consider some models as the possible underlying physical theories. We also list some channels for further studies. Read More

We investigate the impact of the fourth generation quarks on production and decays of the charged Higgs boson at CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) with triple $b$-tagging. The signal is the process $gg\to \bar{u_4}u_4$, followed by $\bar{u_4}\to W^{-} \bar{b}$ and $u_4\to h^{+} b$ decays with subsequent $h^{+}\to t \bar{b}$ and corresponding hermitic conjugates. It is shown that, if $m_{u_{4}}= 400$ GeV, considered process will provide unique opportunity to discover charged Higgs boson with mass range of 200 to 350 GeV at the first years of the LHC run. We evaluate the LHC discovery potential for the fourth family Standard Model neutrinos in the process $pp\to Z/h\to\nu_{4}{\bar{\nu}_{4}}\to W\mu W\mu$. We show that, depending on their masses, the simultaneous discovery of both the Higgs boson and the heavy neutrinos is probable at early stages of LHC operation. Results are presented for both Majorana and Dirac type fourth family neutrinos. Read More

TeV scale lepton-hadron and photon-hadron colliders are necessary both to clarify fundamental aspects of strong interactions and for adequate interpretation of the LHC data. Today, there are two realistic proposals for the post-HERA era, namely, QCD Explorer (QCD-E) and Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC). Both QCD-E and LHeC can operate as eA colliders, whereas gamma-p and gamma-A options are unique for QCD-E. Read More

The pair production of heavy fourth-generation quarks, which are predicted under the hypothesis of flavor democracy, is studied using tree-level Monte Carlo generators and fast detector simulation. Two heavy-quark mass values, 500 and 750$\gev$, are considered with the assumption that the fourth family mixes primarily with the two light families. It is shown that a clear signature will be observed in the data collected by the ATLAS detector, after the first year of low-luminosity running at the Large Hadron Collider. Read More
