This paper describes our approach to the SemEval 2017 Task 10: "Extracting Keyphrases and Relations from Scientific Publications", specifically to Subtask (B): "Classification of identified keyphrases". We explored three different deep learning approaches: a character-level convolutional neural network (CNN), a stacked learner with an MLP meta-classifier, and an attention based Bi-LSTM. From these approaches, we created an ensemble of differently hyper-parameterized systems, achieving a micro-F1-score of 0. Read More

We report measurements of the photon beam asymmetry $\Sigma$ for the reactions $\vec{\gamma}p\to p\pi^0$ and $\vec{\gamma}p\to p\eta $ from the GlueX experiment using a 9 GeV linearly-polarized, tagged photon beam incident on a liquid hydrogen target in Jefferson Lab's Hall D. The asymmetries, measured as a function of the proton momentum transfer, possess greater precision than previous $\pi^0$ measurements and are the first $\eta$ measurements in this energy regime. The results are compared with theoretical predictions based on $t$-channel, quasi-particle exchange and constrain the axial-vector component of the neutral meson production mechanism in these models. In this paper the problem of persistence of invariant tori under small perturbations of integrable Hamiltonian systems is considered. The existence of one-to-one correspondence between hyperbolic invariant tori and critical points of the function $\Psi$ of two variables defined on semi-cylinder is established. It is proved that if unperturbed Hamiltonian has a saddle point, then under arbitrary perturbations there persists at least one hyperbolic torus. Read More

Some critical comments and remarks on the article "Comparison of two experiments on radiative neutron decay" by R.U.Khafizov et al. Read More

An experiment using a prototype setup to search for the neutron electric dipole moment by measuring spin-rotation in a non-centrosymmetric crystal (quartz) was carried out to investigate statistical sensitivity and systematic effects of the method. It has been demonstrated that the concept of the method works. The preliminary result of the experiment is $d_{\rm n}=(2. Read More

The direct constraint on the parameters of short range pseudomagnetic interaction of free neutron with matter is obtained from the recent test experiment on a search for neutron EDM by crystal-diffraction method. It is shown that this constraint on a product of scalar to pseudo-scalar coupling constants $g_s g_p$ is better than that of any other method for the range $\lambda < 10^{-5}$cm. Read More

We present details of the technical design and manufacture of the ZEPLIN-III dark matter experiment. ZEPLIN-III is a two-phase xenon detector which measures both the scintillation light and the ionisation charge generated in the liquid by interacting particles and radiation. The instrument design is driven by both the physics requirements and by the technology requirements surrounding the use of liquid xenon. Read More
